Whispers of Truth: Three Inspirational Poems
What I asked for...
I asked for clarity and it came to me.
It broke my heart, but it set me free.
I sought truth and truth appeared,
Revealing to me what I had feared.
I felt betrayed, but it was I
Who expected more than a life of lies.
And so I stand at this open door,
Knowing my heart wants so much more.
Truth is bold-it stands alone.
And, I am grateful for what it's shown.
Narcisstic Love
Shards of glass slice my heart,
splintering it into miniscual pieces.
Each breath an inhalation of pain.
Crystal fragments of grief.
Your disregard presses into my chest
like a boulder crushes the sweet innocence
of the rose freshly awakened.
This yearning to be seen...held...loved
leaves me breathless and bruised.
No surgeon's touch could have opened my heart
and exposed it's raw vulnerability
with the precision of your aloofness.
Where is the mercy?
The Lotus and the Sunflower
The Lotus flower blooms
Not in the bright of day,
Like the amber Sunflower,
Whose smiling face nods in agreement...
But, from murky waters far below the surface,
Rising to unfold the loveliest of petals.
